On Tuesday in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, the Archaeological Department presented its reply in the court in the case of Devkinandan Thakur vs Jama Masjid. The Intezamia Committee also presented its side. Now the court has fixed July 31 as the date for hearing.

Advocate Vinod Kumar Shukla said that he had earlier given an application for conducting a technical survey regarding the presence of the idol under the stairs. The court has fixed July 31 as the date for hearing on it. Even after giving dates several times, the Archaeological Department did not submit its reply, on which the court gave the Archaeological Department a last chance of July 16.

On the other hand, case number-659/2023 of Lord Krishna Vigraha of Yogeshwar Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sangh Trust, Shri Bhagwan Shri Krishna Lala Virajman etc. vs. Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board etc. was heard in the Small Causes Court.

Plaintiff and advocate Ajay Pratap Singh said that on July 5, the court had issued an order to make the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and Intezamia Committee Jama Masjid as defendants in the case. In this, the advocate gave an application under Order 6 Rule 17 of the Civil Procedure Code for amendment in the plaint on behalf of the plaintiff.

The court has fixed 31 July as the date for its disposal. Advocate Ajay Pratap Singh said that Jama Masjid is a monument of national importance protected under ASI, under whose stairs the idols of Rama-Vallabh are buried. The advocate said that on 15 March, he had given the application for GPR survey of the stairs of Jama Masjid to the court during the hearing, which is still pending.
