Minister Atishi said, Delhi pays about 2.5 lakh crore tax to the center. Delhi should get 10,000 crore central tax and 10,000 crore for MCD this year. Delhi pays 2.07 crore central tax and 25,000 crore GST. Every state except Delhi gets its share of tax back. Atishi said, we were hoping that this year the people of Delhi will get their share.

Delhiites were cheated in the budget
Atishi said that once again Delhiites have been cheated in the Union Budget. In this 2024-25 budget, Rs 1 lakh 24 thousand crore has been given to various states of the country, but the people of Delhi have not received a single rupee from it. At the same time, Rs 82207 crore has been given to various local bodies of the country, but the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has not received a single rupee in this budget. Delhi gave Rs 2 lakh 7 thousand crore to the central government last year as income tax and Rs 25 thousand crore as CGST. That is, in total, the people of Delhi gave a tax of 2 lakh 32 thousand crore to the central government, but despite this, nothing has been given to Delhi in this budget.
The central government did not fulfill the demands of the people of Delhi
Atishi said, ‘The people of Delhi have received zero rupees in the Modi government’s budget. The people of Delhi had demanded from the central government that they should get 5% of the money they pay as tax, but the central government has not fulfilled the demand of the people of Delhi. The central government gives financial assistance to the local bodies, in the same way the people of Delhi were also demanding to give 5% of their tax to the MCD, but the central government has not given even a single rupee.’
In the last 11 years, the BJP government at the Centre has done nothing for Delhi
Atishi said, ‘People of Delhi pay tax of 40 thousand crores to the Delhi government every year. With this tax of 40 thousand crores, the Kejriwal government provides many facilities to the people of Delhi including the best government schools, mohalla clinics, 24 hours free electricity and free bus travel for women.’ At the same time, the people of Delhi pay 2 lakh 32 thousand crores rupees in the form of tax to the BJP-ruled central government every year, but the central government does not give anything to the people of Delhi. The BJP government at the center has not done a single work for Delhi in the last 11 years.
