AAP leader and Water Minister Atishi has alleged that the BJP is blocking the water provided to Delhi through its Haryana government to create panic over water. Haryana is giving less water to Delhi since May 11. Due to this, the water level of Yamuna river has come down to 670.9 feet, whereas it should be 674 feet. He has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Haryana in this regard.
Atishi said in the press conference on Wednesday that the people of Delhi and the country are very angry with the work of BJP for 10 years. Troubled by rising inflation and unemployment in the country, people have decided to oust BJP from power. In view of this, BJP is hatching new conspiracies one after the other against Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party. In this series, now BJP has hatched a new conspiracy to defame Aam Aadmi Party and harass the people of Delhi before the voting to be held in Delhi on Saturday. Under this, BJP has stopped the water from getting to Delhi through its Haryana government.
He told that at normal times the water level of Yamuna river in Wazirabad is 674 feet and when the water level decreases it does not go below 672 feet. While the water level of Yamuna was at 671.6 feet on May 11, the water level remained at 671.6 feet for the next three days. However, on May 14 and 15, the water level rose to 671.9 feet. But after this, on May 16, the water level came down to 671.3 feet and on May 17, 18, 19, the water level fell to 671 feet. Not only this, on May 21 it fell from 671 feet to 670.9 feet. Due to this, complaints of water shortage have started coming from different areas of Delhi since last few days. Earlier there were never complaints of water shortage in these places.
Will file petition in Supreme Court
He said that in case adequate water is not received from Haryana, an application will be filed in the Supreme Court. Because looking at the water level data of Yamuna for the last 10 days, it is very clear that the water level of Yamuna in Delhi has never been so low. This is being done exactly five-seven days before the elections.
The step of stopping water is cheap politics: Pandey
Aam Aadmi Party leader and MLA Dilip Pandey has termed the BJP’s Haryana government’s decision to provide less water to Delhi for the last few days as bad politics. He said that BJP wants to create hatred towards Arvind Kejriwal among the people of Delhi by any means. To fulfill this objective, BJP through its Haryana government is stopping the water of Delhi. BJP wants to torment the people of Delhi by creating water crisis in this scorching heat.
