New Delhi. Karol Bagh police station has arrested the absconding employee and his associates from Dehradun with gold worth 2.25 crore and Rs 80,000. The accused had taken the jeweler’s gold and buried it in his house in West Bengal. The police have recovered three kg of gold from there. 17 lakh rupees and a huge amount of gold bought after selling the rest of the accused were recovered from them. The accused have been identified as Apu Bhunia alias Rishi and his two accomplices, Akshay Rastogi and Shuaib. The accused have placed one kilo of gold.

Police is interrogating all three by taking them on remand. After two months of hard work and a 1700 kilometer chase across four states, the accused were nabbed. Apart from building his house by selling the stolen gold, one of the accused had also bought jewelery from it. Central District Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Sen said that on May 10, a jeweler named Sunil Aneja, a resident of Pusa Road, had given a complaint at the Karol Bagh police station. The victim said that his employee Apu Bhunia had fled with four kg gold and Rs 80,000. Police registered the case and started investigation.

A team of SI Vikram Singh, Havaldar Monu, Manoj Kumar and Pankaj was formed for the investigation. The old number of the accused was coming off. Police collected information from all social media platforms. Apart from this, his friends, relatives, girlfriends and others were searched, but the clue of the accused was not found. Meanwhile, on July 10, Apu’s girlfriend told that the accused had called her through Instagram. On the basis of this, the police nabbed the accused from a PG near Dehradun. After questioning him, the remaining two accused were nabbed from Delhi.
