The girl who was gang-raped in various hotels of Ayodhya Cantt police station area met former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav at the SP office in Lucknow on Wednesday. The victim narrated her ordeal to him and informed him that no concrete action was taken against the accused because they were associated with the BJP. On this, he assured the victim of all possible help. The victim said that she was being pressured to withdraw the FIR.
A girl from an area under Raunahi police station is a BA third year student. The girl had accused eight people of gang-raping her on different dates from 16 to 25 August after holding her hostage. On 2 September, the Cantt police registered a case and arrested five accused.

A day earlier, Congress state president Ajay Rai had also met the victim and assured her of all possible help. On Wednesday, the victim along with former minister Tej Narayan Pandey Pawan and MLC Lilavati Kushwaha reached the Lucknow SP office and met former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in a closed room.
The victim told him that the accused are associated with BJP. The relatives of many accused are involved in BJP politics. Due to their pressure, concrete action is not being taken against the accused and she is not getting the expected justice. Former minister Tej Narayan Pandey said that the national president has assured the victim of all possible help.
