Police arrested two miscreants who were involved in the robbery of 7.11 lakhs on July 3 in front of VMart located at Roadways of Nagar Kotwali during an encounter in the early hours of Friday. Both the miscreants have been shot in the leg, both have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment. One lakh 46 thousand rupees, two country-made pistols, two kiosks and a motorcycle along with two cartridges have been recovered from the miscreants.

In-charge Inspector Kotwali Rajkumar Singh and Swat team in-charge II Sanjay Singh received information that on July 3, two miscreants, who had committed a robbery of Rs 7.11 lakh near V-Mart, were going to Mau via Mojrapur by bike. Immediately on this information, the police team reached Manchobha Mojrapur Six Lane and started laying siege and waiting for the bike riders to come, after some time the bike riders were seen coming who were signaled to stop.

Seeing the police force, he slipped on the road while turning the bike in panic and while running from there, the police party was fired upon by both the criminals. Retaliatory firing was done by the police. In which Purnendra Prakhar alias Akhilesh Ram was shot in the right leg and Rakesh Ram in the left leg. Both were arrested and sent to the district hospital for treatment. Purnendra Prakhar alias Akhilesh Ram s/o Lalta Prasad, resident of Sherwan Police Station, Saraimir and Rakesh Ram, s/o Indrajit Ram, resident of Digia Police Station, Didarganj. Let us inform that two miscreants were arrested by the police a day before during the encounter in this case. In which a miscreant was shot in the leg. In this case, the police have so far arrested four accused.
