Azamgarh District Women’s Hospital’s Kotwali police station has arrested a woman in the case of theft of a newborn baby girl sleeping with a pregnant woman from the ward on the first floor at around 2:30 am on June 3. Police has also recovered the newborn baby along with the woman. The accused of stealing the baby girl from the hospital is still absconding.

CMS Dr. Vinay Singh Yadav handed over the recovered newborn to its family members. The woman arrested by the police told her name as Saroj (28), daughter of Hansraj, resident of village Matanpur, police station Kandharapur. During police interrogation, the woman told that she was in a relationship with Suraj Kumar alias Pappu, resident of Baraipur, police station Kandharapur. Suraj needed three lakh rupees for the studies of Kabaddi coach in NIS. That is why the baby was stolen from the hospital on the night of June 3. A customer was being searched to sell the girl, but the police arrested them.

Let us tell you that for the recovery of the girl and disclosure of the incident, the police examined about 200 CCTV cameras. Two police teams were also deployed to catch the criminals. CMS Dr. Vinay Singh Chauhan said that from now on all the people coming to the hospital premises at night will be checked. Only after this they will be allowed to enter the hospital.
