Girls Cycle Scheme: The central government runs many schemes for the people of the country. There are different schemes for different people. Some schemes are for women. Some schemes are for the elderly. Some schemes are especially for girls. Apart from the central government, state governments also run such beneficial schemes.
So that the citizens of the state can get maximum benefit. Bihar government also runs many schemes for girls. One of these schemes is Mukhyamantri Balika Cycle Yojana. Through this scheme, bicycles are distributed to girls. Which girls do not get the benefit of bicycle under the scheme. Let’s know what is there for this.
The government gives financial help for bicycles
Under the Mukhyamantri Balika Cycle Yojana started by the Bihar government, the government gives money to the girls of the state to buy bicycles. The government has started this scheme so that more and more girls can continue their studies. And they do not have to face any kind of trouble in coming to school. The Bihar government gives financial assistance of ₹ 3000 to the girls to buy bicycles.
This amount is transferred by the government directly to the accounts of girls under DBT i.e. Direct Benefit Transfer. Due to this scheme, there has been a great boost in the education of girls in Bihar. The Bihar government has spent Rs 174.36 crores so far under this scheme. Under the scheme, free bicycles have been given to 8,71,000 girls till now.
These girls do not get benefits
Under the Bihar government’s scheme, girls have to fulfill certain eligibility criteria to avail the benefits. For example, they have to complete a certain attendance. Under the scheme, only those girls who have 75% attendance get the benefit. If the attendance is less than 75%, then those girls are not given the benefit.
Children from 9th to 12th standard get bicycles
Under the Mukhyamantri Balika Cycle Yojana, the Bihar government provides the benefit of free cycle scheme to girls after passing class 8. Girls from class 9th to 12th are given benefits under this scheme.
