A PIL has been filed in the Delhi High Court requesting the court to restrain CM Arvind Kejriwal from issuing any order while he is in ED custody. Besides, in the PIL, a request has also been made to not provide typist, computer printer etc. The petitioner has also appealed to the court to direct the ED to register a complaint, investigate and prosecute Arvind Kejriwal as to how the orders issued by him in police custody reached Delhi Minister Atishi.
Petitioner Surjit Singh Yadav, through advocates Shashi Ranjan Kumar Singh and Mahesh Kumar, further said that Arvind Kejriwal is violating the oath of secrecy given to him under the Third Schedule of the Constitution of India while issuing directions and orders in custody. Let us tell you that the same petitioner recently filed another PIL in the Delhi High Court, praying for the removal of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from the post of Chief Minister of Delhi Government.
The petition said that after the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi government minister Atishi, while giving an interview to several channels on March 21, 2024, had said that Arvind Kejriwal would not resign from his post and would contest elections if needed. The petition said that Kejriwal’s continuation as Chief Minister would hamper the legal process which could lead to breakdown of the constitutional machinery in the state.
