Bangladesh Violence Latest News: The US has reacted to the allegations leveled by Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The US has denied Hasina’s allegations and said that the US had no role in bringing down the government.

White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, said, “We have no involvement in this. Any reports of US involvement are rumors and completely false. This is an election of the Bangladeshi people. We believe the Bangladeshi people should decide the future of the Bangladeshi government. That is our position.”

Sheikh Hasina had made this allegation through a letter

Let us tell you that on Sunday (August 11, 2024), former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is living in India, accused the US of ousting her from power for not handing over the island of St. Martin. Sheikh Hasina said that after getting the island of St. Martin, America’s influence over the Bay of Bengal would have increased.

In her message, Sheikh Hasina had warned Bangladeshi citizens not to fall prey to the influence of fundamentalists. In a message sent through her close aides and made available to ET, Sheikh Hasina had said, “I resigned so that I would not have to see the procession of dead bodies. They wanted to come to power on the dead bodies of students, but I did not let this happen, I resigned from the post of Prime Minister.”

Appeal to not get misled by fundamentalists

Hasina further said that I could have remained in power if I had given up the sovereignty of St. Martin Island and allowed America to have influence over the Bay of Bengal. I request the people of my country, please do not get misled by the fundamentalists.
