Lekhpal Manish Kashyap, originally a resident of Baheri and currently living in Bukhara Road Colony of the city, was posted in Faridpur tehsil. He had gone for duty on November 27, but did not return home after that. Mother Morkali had raised suspicion of kidnapping against Khallapur village head and his associates. After this, the police registered a report of unknown kidnapping and started searching for Manish.
During investigation, the police found out that Omveer Kashyap, resident of Kapurpur village of Halka area of Lekhpal, is also missing since November 27. When his number was put on surveillance, his location was sometimes found in Delhi and sometimes in Haryana. The police team arrested him.
According to the police, during interrogation he confessed to the entire incident. He has also confessed the names of his brother-in-law Suraj, resident of Bukhara, maternal uncle Nanhe Kashyap and wife’s maternal uncle Netrapal Kashyap, who were involved in the conspiracy. On his information, the police recovered the head skeleton from the drain of Cantt area on Sunday.
During investigation on the spot, some clothes and bones were also found. It was claimed that the skeleton, bones and clothes of the head belonged to accountant Manish Kashyap. According to the police, the accused kidnapped the accountant to extort ransom and murdered him the same day. The family members have demanded DNA test.
