In Uttar Pradesh, admission in class 1 in council, aided, recognized primary and upper primary schools will be available only when the child turns six years of age. This time the Basic Education Department has said that this rule will be strictly followed. Children below six years of age will be enrolled in kindergarten.

The department has said that children who complete six years of age on April 1, 2024, will be enrolled in class one. At the same time, if the Aadhaar number of the child is not available at the time of enrolment, the Aadhaar number of his guardian will be entered. If the parents’ Aadhaar is not made then it will have to be made within two weeks of enrollment.

Basic Education Director Pratap Singh Baghel has said that along with this, the ration card number of the family and its category will also be recorded. He has said that in the new session, a campaign will be launched to enroll every child of class six to 14 years in school and provide free education.

He has said that all BSAs should provide information about enrolled students to the Directorate every week from April 1 to 30. Let us tell you that a government order was issued last year regarding admission in class one at the age of six years. Last year, being the first time, some relaxation was given in this, but this time strictness is being taken regarding it.
