BCCI makes changes Team India squad for Zimbabwe T20 series Shivam Dubey to replace Nitish Reddy


Team India Squad: The Indian team is going to tour Zimbabwe after the end of T20 World Cup 2024, where 5 T20 matches will be played between the two teams. BCCI recently announced Team India for the Zimbabwe tour, in which Nitish Reddy, who made a splash in IPL 2024, was also given a chance. Now BCCI has issued a new statement saying that Shivam Dubey will play in the series against Zimbabwe in place of Nitish Reddy.

Nitish Reddy scored 303 runs in batting for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024 and also took 3 wickets while bowling. For this excellent performance, he was selected in the 15-member team of Team India for the Zimbabwe tour. He was even awarded the Emerging Player of the Season Award. On the other hand, Shivam Dubey is currently playing in the T20 World Cup 2024, where he has scored 106 runs in 7 matches so far. Looking at the performance of the last 2 matches, it can be said that his form has returned.

When will the India-Zimbabwe series start?

India’s Zimbabwe tour will start from July 6 and 5 T20 matches will be played between the two teams till July 14. In this series, Shubman Gill has been given the captaincy of Team India and now Shivam Dubey will be the only player in this team who has played a match for India in the T20 World Cup 2024. The Indian team is going to leave for Zimbabwe on July 1. Many senior players including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav have been given rest.

India’s updated squad: Shubman Gill (captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rituraj Gaikwad, Abhishek Sharma, Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Dhruv Jurel (wicketkeeper), Riyan Parag, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Khalil Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, Tushar Deshpande, Shivam Dubey.
