BCCI Stands On Indian Cricketers Virat Kohli Rohit Sharma Availability In Saudi Arabia World Richest T20 League

World’s Richest T20 League: An Australian newspaper had revealed that the government of Saudi Arabia wants to set-up the world’s most expensive T20 league and for this it is in touch with IPL franchise and BCCI. It was also revealed in the report that the Saudi government can also talk to the BCCI to include Indian players in this league. Now a new update has come in this matter.

In a conversation with Cricbuzz, a BCCI source has said, ‘There is no question of releasing Indian players. In fact the premise of this question is wrong. We have a policy and we will stick to it. The source associated with the BCCI has also said that at present no proposal of such a league has come to the BCCI. Some IPL franchises have also denied talks with the Saudi government on such a league.

That is, at the moment, there is no solid evidence of this league actually taking shape. And even if such a league starts, then there will be little scope for participation of any Indian cricketer including Virat and Rohit.

What was said in the report?
A report in ‘The Age’ revealed that representatives of the Saudi Arabian government have sent IPL franchise owners a plan proposal to set-up a T20 franchise league in the Gulf region. The Saudi government wants to make this league the most expensive T20 league in the world. It was also said in the report that for the last one year, the Saudi government is working on this plan and it would like to include Indian cricketers for the success of this expensive league. For this, it can recommend changes in its rules to BCCI.

What do BCCI rules say?
According to BCCI rules, no Indian cricketer can be a part of any other franchise cricket league running abroad other than IPL. If any Indian cricketer has to be a part of such foreign league, then he has to end all his contracts with BCCI. That means that player will not be able to participate in IPL and other domestic tournaments from Team India.
