Be careful if you eat stale food! Blood poisoning can happen, know how dangerous it is

Bacterial Blood Poisoning: Increase of bad bacteria in the body can cause serious harm to health. Some bacteria can also be fatal. Scientists say that bacteria present in the body can cause dangerous blood poisoning. Scientists at Washington State University studied blood-sucking bacteria and found that some bacteria responsible for blood poisoning enter the blood. They are attracted by the fluid or serum present inside the blood. Where bacteria can use the amino acid L-serine as food, which can be dangerous.

vampire bacteria

In this study, researchers have called it a bacterial vampire. Researchers focused on three species of bacteria found in the intestine, which come from the Enterobacteriaceae family. These are called Salmonella enterica, Escherichia coli and Citrobacter koseri. Researchers found that all three species showed vampire-like symptoms when exposed to serum taken from humans.

Those from the Enterobacteriaceae family are commonly associated with bloodstream infections. Which can cause sepsis or blood poisoning. Since blood is completely free of bacteria and other potential pathogens, it can become a major problem when bacteria in the blood become depleted.

Why is the situation dangerous?

Researchers said that many of these Enterobacteriaceae bacteria live in the intestines only. People who have inflammatory bowel disease are at highest risk of bloodstream infection. This study was also published in eLife Journal. It has been told that by revealing his Dracula-like tendencies, a new treatment for dangerous bloodstream infection may be found. This may help in making new medicines in future. These medicines can improve the lives of people with IBD. There is also a high risk of bloodstream infection in such people. This is because in the research, when human serum was given to S. enterica, E. coli and C. coseri, then under its influence the bacteria started reducing within a minute.

Where does E-Coli come from?

Most E. coli do not cause harm and are part of a healthy intestinal tract. Sometimes these can cause serious diseases. Such as diarrhea, urinary tract infection, respiratory disease and blood stream infection. The biggest and common cause of E. coli infection is contaminated food. Therefore one should stay away from it.
