Before The IND Vs AUS Test Series Former Coach Ravi Shastri Advised The Indian Team Try To Win Series By 4-0 At Home Conditions | IND Vs AUS: Before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Ravi Shastri gave advice to Team India, said

Ravi Shastri Advised Indian team: The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be played between India and Australia from 9 February. Before this series, former Indian coach Ravi Shastri gave special advice to Team India. He said that India should take advantage of domestic conditions. Earlier in 2021, the Indian team defeated Australia 2-1 at their home. This time Team India is playing this series at home. Ravi Shastri said on this that the team should think about winning 4-0 in this series.

‘How can I beat Australia 4-0’

Talking on the ICC review, Ravi Shastri said, “We are playing at home. India should think about winning 4-0 in this series. I am cruel I have done two tours of Australia. I know what happened. If I was the coach, I would have had this in my mind that how can I beat Australia 4-0. That means on the first day, I want the ball to pitch on the leg stump and fly off the off stump. If you lose the toss, expect the ball to turn from the first session. That’s what I want.”

He further said, “KL Rahul and Shubman Gill will depend on the team management, what they think. Obviously, you want to go with what you’ve been doing in the past, but form becomes important. You know, somebody’s hitting sweetly and it’s coming off the center of the bat. Then, you know, you wake up, and you say, ‘Listen.'”

Talking about Gill and Rahul, the former coach said, “I am watching both of them very carefully in the nets. If it’s a tough call; When I see the footwork, when I see the timing, who is batting better. If Shubman has to be ahead of Rahul, then so be it. You know straight. You have to see that. I would not say that if Rahul is the vice-captain, he would automatically be a choice.”

Regarding the choice, he said, “This has happened once during my tenure as well. There was a home series against Sri Lanka and there were two opening batsmen. I took the responsibility and then I saw Shikhar Dhawan’s form in the nets. He was in ‘red hot form’ after the Champions Trophy in England. That’s why we picked him and he scored 190 in that match.”
