BJP candidate and Union Minister Giriraj Singh has again taken the lead in Begusarai Lok Sabha seat. He is ahead of CPI candidate Awadhesh Rai by 2389 votes. Awadhesh had defeated Giriraj in the last round.

Bihar Lok Sabha Election Result 2024: NDA has taken a lead in the counting of postal ballots in Bihar. According to the trends received so far in the state, NDA is leading on 15 seats. Whereas All India Alliance i.e. Mahagathbandhan has taken a lead on four seats.

RJD is in the fray from Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Jamui, Purnia, Banka, Supaul, Araria, Madhepura, Darbhanga, Ujiarpur, Munger, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Saran, Hajipur, Valmikinagar, Sheohar, Siwan, Patliputra, Buxar, Jehanabad, Vaishali. Congress is in the fray from Kishanganj, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Sasaram, West Champaran, Patna Sahib and Maharajganj. Apart from this, VIP is in the fray from Jhanjharpur, East Champaran and Gopalganj, CPI (ML) is in the fray from Ara, Nalanda and Karakat, CPI from Begusarai and CM from Khagaria.

In the NDA, the BJP is contesting from West Champaran, East Champaran, Aurangabad, Madhubani, Araria, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Maharajganj, Saran, Ujiarpur, Begusarai, Nawada, Patna Sahib, Pataliputra, Ara, Buxar and Sasaram. The JDU is contesting from Valmikinagar, Sitamarhi, Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Madhepura, Gopalganj, Siwan, Bhagalpur, Banka, Nalanda, Jehanabad and Sheohar. The LJP(R) is contesting from Khagaria, Vaishali, Jamui, Hajipur and Samastipur, while the HAM Party is contesting from Gaya and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha from Karakat.

Exit Poll Results 2019 vs 2024: Bihar Assembly Elections 2020
Exit polls in 2020 predicted that the Mahagathbandhan led by Tejashwi Yadav would win the Bihar Assembly elections in 2020. The exit polls had projected it to win 139-161 seats in Bihar. However, the actual result showed the NDA winning a majority and the Mahagathbandhan getting reduced to only 110 seats.
Exit Poll Results 2019 vs 2024: West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021
The exit polls had predicted that BJP was going to win the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021. It was showing a tough fight between TMC and BJP. However, when the results came, Trinamool won 213 out of 284 seats and BJP could win only 77 seats. Apart from this, there are other examples of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017, Chhattisgarh 2023 Assembly Elections, Delhi Assembly Elections 2015, where the exit polls proved completely wrong.
Exit Poll Results 2019 vs 2024: 2004 Lok Sabha Elections
In the 2004 Lok Sabha elections too, exit polls had predicted that the NDA led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee would form the government with 240-275 seats. However, the UPA won 216 seats and the NDA got 187 seats. This is the reason why the Congress is repeatedly citing the 2004 Lok Sabha results. It is hoping that like 2004, this time too the exit polls will prove wrong and the India Block will come to power.

Exit Poll Results 2019 vs 2024: There is only a little time left for the results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 to be announced. After the results are announced, it will be clear whether PM Modi will be able to score a hattrick of victory or the India Alliance will wave the flag of victory. However, it does not seem easy for the Congress-led alliance to oust the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA from power.
