Lok Sabha Elections 2024: NIA on Friday (April 12) arrested two terrorists from West Bengal in connection with the Rameshwaram Cafe blast in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Regarding this, politics has also started gaining momentum in the election environment. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) IT Cell chief Amit Malviya posted on social media that Bengal has become a safe haven for terrorists under Mamata Banerjee’s rule. On this matter, West Bengal Police has called his claim a lie.

Responding to his post, West Bengal Police said, “Lies at their worst! Contrary to the claims made by Amit Malviya, the fact is that in a joint operation of West Bengal Police and Central Intelligence agencies, two suspects have been arrested from Purba Medinipur in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case.”
NIA detains two chief suspects in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast, bomber Mussavir Hussain Shazib and accomplice Abdul Matheen Ahmed Taahaa, from Kolkata. Both likely belong to ISIS cell in Shivamogga, Karnataka.

The police said in its next post, “The active role of West Bengal Police in this case has also been officially accepted by the central agencies. “West Bengal has never been a safe haven for terrorists and the state police will always remain vigilant to keep its people safe from nefarious activities.”
