The body of a newly married woman, who was sleeping at home in Bettiah, Bihar, was found in a sugarcane field on Monday. At the same time, with the intention of hiding her identity, the scoundrels have removed one eye of the married woman. While the other eye is in injured condition. However, the deceased has been identified as Sundaram Devi (22), wife of Mithilesh Sharma. The incident took place in Sareh of Ghodhiya village of Bairiya police station area of the district.
According to the information, the police have also recovered a broken knife from the dead body. Apart from this, a bag and purse, clothes and Rs 50 in cash were found near the dead body. It is being told that the neck of the deceased was tightened with a muffler. He was also stabbed with a knife on the neck from behind. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot, took possession of the body and sent it to GMCH Bettiah for post-mortem and started investigating the case.
Ashok Sharma, resident of Nawalpur village, brother of the deceased, said that I had married my sister to Mithilesh Sharma of Ghorhiya village of Bairiya police station area eight months ago. Brother-in-law Mithlesh Sharma has gone out to work. Last Sunday, my sister’s brother-in-law Akhilesh Sharma came to my house and called my sister and took her away. Here, on Monday, information was received from other people that your sister has been murdered. Then we ran to his in-laws’ house and saw that his body was lying in a sugarcane field and one of his eyes had been torn out and there were wound marks on the other. At the same time, his neck was also attacked with sharp weapons.
At the same time, Akhilesh Sharma, brother-in-law of the deceased, told that on Sunday night we slept after having dinner. My daughter was also sleeping with Sundaram. In the morning my daughter told me that aunty was not at home. Then we started investigating and informed Sundaram’s parents. Meanwhile, on Monday afternoon it was discovered that a dead body was lying in a sugarcane field. When I went there and saw, the dead body was that of my brother’s wife Sundaram.
Here, Sadar SDPO Mahtab Alam said that information about the matter has been received. The body has been taken into custody and sent to GMCH Bettiah for post-mortem. The police is busy taking further action in the case. The accused will not be spared under any circumstances.
