In Bettiah, a young man returning home from Kashmir after working as a labourer died a painful death after being hit by a train. After his death, hundreds of people gathered at the spot. There was chaos at the spot for hours. The incident took place at platform number two of Chanpatia railway station of the district. The deceased has been identified as Daud Ansari (22), son of Rafiq Ansari, a resident of ward number 10 of Bankat Puraina Panchayat of Chanpatia police station area.

According to the information, the young man reached Anand Vihar in Delhi after working as a labourer in Kashmir. Then he boarded the Sapt Kranti Superfast Express 12558 off train going to Muzaffarpur, so that he could reach his home on time. As soon as the train reached Chanpatia railway station, the young man tried to get off the slow moving train. But he failed. During this, he got stuck between the railway line and the platform and fell down, where he died after being hit by the train. The house of the said young man was just one kilometer away from the incident spot. At the same time, the RPC police reached the spot as soon as the information of the incident was received and started investigating the matter.

According to the information, the said youth used to work as a carpenter in Kashmir. He was not married yet. He has four brothers and three sisters. All the family members live in Patna. After the incident, there is chaos among his family members. Here, GRP station in-charge Rajesh Kumar said that the body of the deceased has been sent to Bettiah Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased’s brother Sohail said that Dawood had gone to Kashmir six months ago to work as a laborer.
