A young man died in a collision between a pickup van and a bike in Bettiah, Bihar. While another young man was seriously injured. The incident took place late Sunday night near East Pakuhwa village on the Mainatand Bettiah main road. The deceased youth has been identified as Dhanwant Kumar (27), son of Kalika Prasad, a resident of Rampurwa village in the Mainatand police station area. While the injured youth has been identified as Baliram Kushwaha, son of Narayan Prasad Kushwaha, a resident of Rampurwa.

According to the information, Dhanwant Kumar and Baliram Kushwaha were returning to their home Rampurwa on the same bike late on Sunday night after working on roof casting in Sagaruwa village of Purushottampur police station area. Then near Purvi Pakuhwa village, a pickup van going towards Bettiah collided with the bike. Due to it being late night, the driver of the pickup van managed to escape with the pickup. At the same time, Baliram Kushwaha, who fell injured on the road, called 112 for help. Immediately after that, Mainatand police station in-charge Mantu Kumar reached the spot with the 112 team and took the injured Dhanwant Kumar and Baliram Kushwaha to the community health center for treatment. Where the doctors declared Dhanwant Kumar dead. It is being told that Dhanwant got married three years ago. He also has a one-year-old child named Kaushal Kumar. Here, Baliram Kushwaha was referred to GMCH for better treatment.

Mainatand police station in-charge Mantu Kumar said that the police reached the spot on receiving the information and took both the injured to CHC for treatment. Where the doctors declared Dhanwant Kumar dead. The body of the deceased Dhanwant Kumar has been sent to Bettiah for post-mortem. The accidented bike has been seized. While the police is trying to search for the pickup van driver and the vehicle who fled from the spot. The police is investigating the matter in every way.

The family members are inconsolable due to the untimely death of Dhanwant Kumar. As soon as the body of Dhanwant Kumar reached home after postmortem on Sunday afternoon, the family members started crying. The deceased Dhanwant’s father Kalika Prasad, mother Prabhavati Devi, wife Kiran Kumari, younger brother Ranjan Kumar, Arun Kumar and other family members were crying inconsolably. Mother Prabhavati Devi was beating her chest and saying that O God, what have you done, why have you taken away my son from me. On the other hand, the deceased’s wife Kiran Kumari was repeatedly fainting while holding her one year old son Kaushal Kumar in her lap. Father Kalika Prasad said that Dhanwant Kumar was the earning son of the family. The household expenses were met on his earnings. Our family is in great sorrow due to his absence.
