There was a clash between two communities in Bhagalpur, Bihar. Stone pelting allegedly took place during the immersion of the idol of Mother Saraswati in Lodipur, Bhagalpur on Friday. Violence took place in Darbhanga also
Apart from Bhagalpur, in Darbhanga, Bihar too, there was sudden stone pelting on the procession going to immerse Saraswati idol late on Friday night. Because of this there was a fierce fight between the two parties. One and a half dozen people including a policeman were injured in the incident. The incident took place near the mosque of Purani Bazar of Bahera police station area. As soon as information about the clash was received, Bahera police station and Benipur SDPO Dr. Sumit Kumar reached the spot. Soon after this, DM Rajeev Roshan and SSP Jagunath Reddy Jalareddy also reached the spot. Heavy police force has been deployed to maintain peace in the area.
There was an atmosphere of chaos for hours
Local people say that the Saraswati idol immersion procession was going from Bahera Bazaar to Chhoti Bazaar. Meanwhile, some anti-social elements pelted stones at the procession from the rooftop. There was chaos there. Many local people including policemen were injured in stone pelting. Because of this there is tension in the entire area.
