Manoj Bajpayee narrated the story of his father’s death

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Manoj Bajpayee narrated the story of his father’s death. He told how he had to say something to his father that hardly anyone says to their father or mother.

According to the interview, Manoj Bajpayee said, ‘The way I handled my father’s death, nobody can do it. I probably wouldn’t have been able to do all that 10 years ago. I was very close to my father, I respected him a lot. He was in a lot of pain and I had to go for the shooting of a film. Babuji also used to say that nothing should be given importance in front of work. I used to listen to everything he said.’

The actor further said, ‘My way of taking care of him was a little different. Whenever I got a break from the film, I would fly from Chennai to Delhi. I would tell Babuji that I am going for shooting now and will come in the evening and there was a lot of travel in going and coming. He used to be very happy to see me. One day I got a call from my sister and she said that Babuji has got stuck in this world. His health is not good, even the doctors have given up. You are the only one who can do something for him and he can be free from attachment. His relationship with you has been like this.’

Manoj Bajpayee further said, ‘I was going to take a shot for the film Killer, the director, crew and unit were ready for the shoot, my boy was in the van, and I was on the phone. I told Babuji that it’s enough now, now you go, Babuji it’s done please go…that was a breaking moment for me. I was going for the shoot and my boy started crying. The unit did not know what was happening. When I gave the shot, I got a call from my brother that Babuji is no more. That moment was breaking for me and I cried a lot. I cried for that father who was also a good person.’
