Ingredients for Stuffed Lauki
Gourd (thin) – 1
Onion – 2
Tomato – 1
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Chana dal – 1/2 cup
Rai – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 3/4 tsp
Red chili powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Fennel powder – 1/2 tsp
Dry mango – 2 tsp
Garam masala – 1 tsp
oil – as needed
salt – as per taste

Stuffed Bottle Gourd Recipe
To make stuffed bottle gourd, first peel the bottle gourd and cut it into equal pieces of one and a half inch length. Now cut onion and tomato and prepare their paste separately and keep them in bowls. After this, take chana dal (lentils soaked overnight) and grind it coarsely with the help of a mixer to make a paste. After this, put 1 tablespoon oil in a pan and fry the paste of lentils and take it out in a vessel.
Now add 1 more tablespoon of oil to the pan and after heating add mustard seeds. When the mustard starts crackling, add onion paste, tomato paste and ginger-garlic paste to it, mix them all well and cook for about 5 minutes while stirring. Meanwhile, after some time add chana dal paste to it and let them cook together.

Now add turmeric and salt to the paste mixture and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes. After this add fennel powder, coriander powder and red chili powder and mix it. When oil separates from the paste, add garam masala and dry mango powder and mix. After this turn off the gas. When the paste cools down, cut the pieces of gourd from the middle and fill the paste in it.

Now once again put some oil in the pan and heat it. When the oil becomes hot, put the stuffed bottle gourd in it and let them cook by covering them. Cook the vegetable on low flame for about 10 minutes. When the bottle gourd becomes soft, turn off the gas. Serve the stuffed bottle gourd with roti or paratha.
