He is so famous in Dehradun that once former Chief Minister Harish Rawat could not stop himself after hearing the praise of his Rajma Chawal and Kadhi Chawal and came to his shop. Talking to Local 18, Lalita Bhasin, the owner of Bhasin Ji Rajma Chawal and Kadhi Chawal shop, says that her shop has been at this place for 50 years. Earlier, her husband used to sell Rajma rice on the street. Later he took this shop and since then this business of Rajma Chawal is going on. She further says that the taste of her Rajma Chawal is the same for the last 50 years. They have never compromised with taste.
Started with 3 rupees plate
The shop of Bhasin ji Rajma Chawal Walo is so old that even now whenever his 50 years old customers reach his shop. He tells that he has also eaten ₹ 3 and ₹ 5 plates here. Although the price of a plate of Rajma rice used to be the same during that period, but with the passage of time, inflation has caught its pace. Accordingly, the prices of food plates have also increased.
Quality will not be compromised
Today at Bhasin ji’s shop special Rajma Chawal and Kadhi Chawal plate is available for ₹ 50. Shop owner Lalita Bhasin tells that no matter how much inflation increases, she will not compromise with food. Her feelings are attached to this business and now she wants to connect people with its taste.
