Continuous talks are going on between the doctors’ delegation and the ministry regarding the strike of resident doctors across the country. Today also, in this connection, a delegation of doctors met with senior officials of the Health Ministry. In which many important issues were discussed.
According to ministry sources, the central government has taken major steps for the safety of resident doctors. The central government has issued new orders to increase the number of security personnel in hospitals by 25% and to increase the number of marshals. Apart from this, an order has also come from the ministry regarding the institution a few days ago.
What else was discussed in the meeting
It was also discussed in the meeting that if the resident doctors agree to form a committee, then important decisions and suggestions regarding the safety of doctors and the hospital can be discussed in that committee. Like – duty room will be made, CCTV will be installed, proper lighting arrangement will be done. The committee that will be formed will include representatives of the states and representatives of NMC.
States already have laws
26 states of the country already have laws for the protection of health care workers. In which there is a provision of punishment from 3 years to 10 years. However, sources in the Health Ministry say that the central government has clarified that the demands of resident doctors are not justified. The demand of CPA ordinance being made by the doctors is of no use. The incident is condemnable. But in rape and murder cases, action is taken only under the law.
It has been more than a week since resident doctors across the country are on strike. This protest in Delhi is getting bigger every day. Even today, doctors gheraoed the Health Ministry. Due to this strike, patients are facing a lot of problems. Many patients are going back without treatment.
