There was a lot of excitement in the markets on Saturday regarding Karva Chauth. There was a lot of crowd from bullion to saree market and from gift items to utensils and sawdust shops. While husbands bought mangalsutra and bracelets to gift to their wives at jewelery shops, women bought sarees of their choice at saree shops. Analog and premium range watches were also sold well for gifting to wives.

There was a lot of demand for designer anklets ranging from Rs 2500 to Rs 10 thousand, while platinum rings starting from Rs 30 thousand were also sold well. Priyadarshan Nigam, manager of the showroom of premium watches located in Hazratganj, said that in the last two days, ladies analog watches in the range of Rs 10-15 thousand are also being sold a lot. However, in the premium range they have watches ranging from Rs 1-7 lakh. A customer has purchased premium range ladies watches worth Rs 12.5 lakh.
Gold was sold for 12 lakhs and silver for 1.5 lakhs.
On the occasion of Karva Chauth, gold karvas were sold for Rs 12 lakh and silver karvas were sold for up to Rs 1.5 lakh. Vicky Gupta, an utensils shopkeeper of Hazratganj, says that the demand for brass karwa ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 1500 was the highest.
