Sreejita De Faced Casting Couch: Fans have always liked the bubbly style of famous TV actress and Bigg Boss 16 fame Srijita Dey. Srijita is especially known for her acting in the daily soap ‘Uttaran’. This serial was aired on Colors channel from 2008 to 2015. Srijita’s character Mukta Rathod got a lot of love from the audience in the show. Recently in an interview, Sreejita spoke openly on casting couch.
Sreejita Dey faced casting couch at the age of 19
Srijita Dey told that in the beginning of her career she faced many disgusting things. Talking about casting couch, she revealed, ‘When I was 19 years old, I was offered a Bengali film, which was a remake of a Hindi film. I was called for a meeting. My mother was in Kolkata and I went to the director’s office alone. I didn’t like the way he held my shoulder and the way he talked to me.
The actress further said that ‘he was an old man. Even if you are very young, you know that this method is not right. The way he was looking at me was very dirty. I literally picked up my purse and ran out of that office.
‘They just wanted a meeting…’
Srijita Dey said that ‘In this industry, people used to call him without any reason and claim that he had big films, but he had nothing. They would just call Sreejita and they only wanted a meeting with me. Recalling these incidents, the actress said, ‘They used to say that I have a film with this big director, but it involves casting couch, this happened to me once or twice too’.
While talking on the casting couch, Srijita Dey further revealed that ‘I used to wonder how people can have such a mentality. But I never got carried away by all these things. I was strong enough and I came to know that where there is good work, people will never come to you in the wrong way. I always believe that where real work happens, there is no casting couch.
She has made a special mark with her acting in famous TV shows like Uttaran, Tum Hi Ho Bandhu Sakha Tumhi, Ladies Special, Laal Ishq and Yeh Jadoo Hai Jinn Ka. With this, Srijita started acting in 2007 with ‘Kasauti Zindagi Ki’.
