1.According to media reports, Ali Asghar Shirazi, owner of Hustlers Hospitality Private Limited Company, had given funds to Abdu Rozik for startup in the year 2022-23. Along with Abdu, actor Shiv Thackeray had also taken this fund.
2. In the year 2023, Abdu opened Burgir restaurant in Mumbai. ED says that the company which has invested money in the startup has earned it from narco. According to reports, the money earned from Shirazi’s narco-funding work is given to various startups.
3. In this case, first Shiv Thackeray was called for questioning by ED, in which Shiv Thackeray said that when he and Rozic came to know about it, they had canceled the contract. According to Shiv and Abdu, they did not know about the background of Shirazi Company, they were introduced to this company by a common friend.
4. Shiv Thackeray wanted to start Thackeray tea and snacks and Abdu wanted to start the burger brand ‘Burgir’. His acquaintance introduced him to Krunal Ojha, director of Hustlers Hospitality. Krunal had offered both of them to invest in his startup.
5. Shiv Thackeray has told ED that due to some reason he could not open his restaurant, whereas Abdu opened the Burgir restaurant in May 2023 in which many big Bollywood stars had attended. Now after Shiv Thackeray, EG will interrogate Abdu Rozik.
