Big news has come out from Katihar, Bihar, where GRP has recovered Rs 52.46 lakh from the train. GRP has arrested an accused traveling with currency notes in this case. Prima facie, it has come to light that messages related to this were exchanged between the arrested accused and a candidate through WhatsApp. At present, GRP is busy investigating the entire matter.
Actually, the whole matter is of Katihar Railway Junction, where GRP has recovered Rs 52.46 lakh from the passenger of 15609 Avadh Assam Express going from Guwahati to Lalgarh. It is being told that the GRP was on its routine intensive patrolling operation at Katihar Junction regarding the Lok Sabha elections when the Avadh Assam Express train stopped at the platform. GRP personnel found the bag of passenger Anil Kumar traveling on air-conditioned coach A2-44 berth in a suspicious condition. When GRP personnel searched the bag, bundles of notes were recovered inside. During the search, Nepali currency worth Rs 842 was also recovered from the accused.
Katihar Railway Superintendent of Police Dr. Sanjay Bharti said that at present the Income Tax Department has been informed with the demand of valid documents of the notes from the arrested accused. Information about WhatsApp chatting of a candidate has also come to light, which is being investigated. Some results can be said only after the investigation by the Income Tax Department, currently investigation is being done.
