Muzaffarpur Police has arrested five liquor mafia including police constable smuggling liquor. Two constables are also involved in this game of buying and selling liquor, for whose arrest the police is conducting raids. The case pertains to Darbhanga turn located in Sadatpur of Kanti police station area.
Had come from Sitamarhi to carry liquor consignment
Police say that the number of liquor mafia reached ten in two vehicles near Darbhanga Mod located in Sadatpur of Kanti police station area. There were also two SIs of Sitamarhi and a constable in that vehicle. They would receive the liquor laden bus from there and take it to Nanpur in Sitamarhi. But before that some people of Baria bus stand surrounded the bus due to which an argument started between the two sides.
These policemen have been accused of selling liquor
A total of ten liquor mafia, including constable Animev Patel, sub-inspectors Rampravesh Oraon and Jitendra Suman from Sitamarhi district, had reached near Darbhanga Mod in Sadatpur of Kanti police station to receive the liquor consignment from two vehicles. From there the bus would be received and taken to Nanpur in Sitamarhi. Before that the bus was surrounded there. There was an argument between the two sides for some time.

In order to drive away the people who surrounded the bus, both the sub-inspectors of Sitamarhi, who were sitting in the car, called the Kanti police station and started urging them to release the bus. As soon as the police of Kanti police station reached the spot and checked the bus, the Muzaffarpur police were stunned to see the scene. A huge amount of liquor was recovered from the cellars made in different parts of the bus.
Policemen caught in this mistake
In this regard, Kanti Police Station President Sanjay Kumar says that Sitamarhi’s sub-inspector Jitendra Suman called him and said that Sir, a bus is on the Darbhanga turn, which has been stopped by some anti-social elements. As soon as I got this information, I sent SI Umashankar Singh there with a patrolling team. But after going there, the patrol team checked the bus, during which 172 cases i.e. 1590 liters of foreign liquor were recovered from the bus. The police of Kanti police station arrested five mafias from the spot.

Police Station President Sanjay Kumar says that along with the arrested liquor mafia, there is also a constable of DIU. Along with this, two sub-inspectors Rampravesh Oraon and Jitendra Suman are also absconding. He also told that during investigation it has come to know that this consignment of liquor belongs to notorious liquor mafia Anil Mahato, resident of Nanpur, Sitamarhi. He is absconding in many liquor cases. He told that the CCTV footage around the spot is being scrutinized. Apart from this, the CDR of everyone’s mobile is being extracted.
