In the month of Sawan, which is the favourite month of Lord Bholenath, the river Bagmati itself performs the Jalabhishek of his temple Baba Dhaneshwar Nath Temple. Let us tell you that for hundreds of years, there is a lot of water every year in Sawan. It keeps reaching the sanctum sanctorum of the temple throughout the month. At the same time, the temple building does not suffer any damage due to the river water.

This temple has special importance

The temple on the banks of Bagmati in Dhanaur village of Katra block area of Muzaffarpur district is famous by the name of Baba Dhaneshwar Nath. Lord Bholenath is not worshipped here during the month of Saavan. The most unique thing about this temple is that since it is situated on the banks of the river Bagmati, the Shivling present in this temple remains submerged in water for 3 to 4 months when the water level of the Bagmati river rises.

The Jal Abhishek of Lord Bholenath is performed 24 hours a day and this Jal Abhishek is not performed by any Shiv devotee but by two surging rivers. For years, the Jal Abhishek of Lord Bholenath has been performed continuously in this temple since the beginning of the month of Sawan. It is said that from the month of January till the beginning of Sawan, there is a continuous flow of devotees in the temple.

What do the local villagers say about the temple

Local villager Sujit Kumar says that this temple has been situated in the middle of the Bagmati river for hundreds of years. This entire area is a flood-prone area. Hundreds of houses get destroyed, many bridges get destroyed, but even the devastating floods have never been able to harm this temple.
