Former Naxalite cum LJP leader is in the form of 55-year-old Bhagirath Paswan, resident of Sarsaula Khurd village of Shivhar. Local people say that Bhagirath Paswan had gone to the Civil Court along with 8 other people to testify. While returning home after giving testimony, unknown criminals riding a bike fired 4 bullets at Bhagirath Paswan near Canara Bank located at Zero Mile. After executing the incident, the three bike-borne criminals fled from the scene waving weapons. After getting the information of the incident, the local police reached the spot and took the injured Bhagirath Paswan to the hospital.

At present his condition is critical.

The injured Bhagarath Paswan is a district level leader of the LJP (Ra). His wife Sunderkali Devi was defeated in the recently held panchayat election for the chieftainship. Bhagirath Paswan had come out of jail only a few months back. At present, the police is probing all the points. The local police is conducting raids to arrest the criminals who fired at the LJP leader. Superintendent of Police Anant Kumar Rai has told that raids are being conducted to arrest the criminals. Soon those criminals will be arrested. On the other hand, the city police station says that two criminals have been identified.
