This huge sports complex, built at a cost of Rs 750 crore on 90 acres of land in Hindupur-Thera Mouza of Rajgir, will not only prove to be a boon for the young players of the state, but will also give Bihar a new identity on the sports map of the country. Many important programs will be held in the inaugural ceremony. The Chief Minister will award 09 international players with cash prizes and honors for their achievements. Apart from this, an exhibition match of the Asian Games winning Indian women’s hockey team will be organized on the newly constructed hockey turf. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Shravan Kumar, Jayant Raj, Surendra Mehta will be present with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

A senior official of the Sports Ministry said, “This academy is not just a building but a construction site for Bihar’s sports future. Here players will get international level scientific training. This academy has modern facilities for athletics track, football stadium, hockey turf, swimming pool, and many other sports. Notably, an international level cricket stadium is also part of this complex, the construction of which is going on at a fast pace and is expected to be completed by June 2025.

A spokesperson of the Sports Department said, “The establishment of this academy as well as Bihar Sports University will take sports education and research to new heights in the state.” It is noteworthy that Ravindran Shankaran has been appointed as the first director of the State Sports Academy, while Indian Administrative Service officer Rajnikant has been appointed as the Registrar of Bihar Sports University. This initiative is part of the visionary plan of the Bihar government, which aims to promote sports culture in the state and prepare internationally competitive players. With the inauguration of this academy, Bihar is not only taking a big step towards providing world-class facilities to its players but is also demonstrating its ability to host big sporting events in the future. This is certainly the beginning of a golden chapter in the sports history of Bihar.
