The court of District and Sessions Judge Anant Singh has sentenced two accused to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000. For not paying the fine amount, the accused have been sentenced to additional imprisonment of six months.

In a case related to Marauna police station of Supaul district, the court of District and Sessions Judge Anant Singh has sentenced two accused to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000. For not paying the fine amount, the accused have been sentenced to additional imprisonment of six months. SP Shaishav Yadav has given this information by issuing a release. It is being told that the matter is related to Kusamhole Ward 7 under Maruna police station area. Where on July 12, 2023, a woman was murdered with a knife in a dispute arising out of a child defecating on a footpath. After this, on July 13, on the complaint of informant Dhanveer Yadav, case number 73/23 was registered at Maruna police station under section 302/34 of IPC. The court found two accused Laxman Yadav and Sunil Yadav guilty in the case under sections 302, 120B and 149 of the Indian Penal Code. After which both were sentenced on Tuesday.

In the complaint lodged at the police station, Dhanveer told that his wife Shobha Devi was leaving the house at around 9 am on July 12 and going towards the main road. Meanwhile, he saw that neighbor Sunil Yadavâs child was defecating in the footpath on the way to his house. Shobha complained about this to Sunilâs wife Geeta Devi. But on hearing the complaint, three people including neighbors Sunil Yadav and Laxman Yadav came to the door armed with weapons and started hitting Shobha hard on the head with khanti. Because of this, Shobha fell on the ground bleeding and became unconscious. In critical condition, his family members took him to Primary Health Center Marauna for treatment. But after first aid there, seeing the serious condition, he was first referred to DMCH of Darbhanga and then from there to PMCH of Patna. Shobha died on the way to PMCH.
Both the accused were declared guilty on Monday
During the hearing of the murder case in the court of the District and Sessions Judge, a total of seven witnesses were presented by the prosecution. The same Additional Public Prosecutor Rajesh Kumar Singh presented the argument before the court on the basis of evidence and witnesses. Whereas from the defense side, advocate Virendra Kumar Jha took part in the cross-examination. However, the court found the prosecution right and on Monday itself convicted the two accused in the case, Laxman Yadav and Sunil Yadav, of murder. However, the decision on the point of punishment was reserved on Monday. In the hearing held on Tuesday, the court sentenced both of them to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000.
