On Saturday night, miscreants hacked a woman sleeping in the courtyard of her house with an axe in Singhia Khurd village of Karpoorigram police station area of ​​Samastipur district of Bihar. When the granddaughter, who was sleeping next to her grandmother, saw her mother soaked in blood in the morning, she raised an alarm. The deceased has been identified as Phulon Devi (40), wife of Baidyanath Paswan of the village. On receiving information about the incident, Karpoorigram police station reached the spot, seized the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for postmortem. ASP Sanjay Pandey also reached the spot and started investigating the case. He said that the entire case is being investigated.

Regarding the incident, the village head’s son Gulshan Kumar said that the deceased’s husband Baidyanath works as a labourer in Delhi. The woman lived in the village with her two small children and elderly mother-in-law. He said that at night both the children were sleeping in the house with their grandmother. Due to the heat, Phulon Devi was sleeping in the courtyard of the house. In the morning, when her younger daughter woke up and reached the courtyard, she saw that the bedding on which her mother was sleeping was stained with blood. Her mother’s head had been cut in several places. At the same time, the police who reached the spot also recovered the axe used in the murder nearby. The family members are not able to tell the reason for the murder of the woman.
