A BJP leader was shot dead in a land dispute in Mahindrawada of Sitamarhi district last night. The incident took place in Mauna village of Mahindwara police station area of the district. Where on Wednesday night, unknown criminals shot and killed a young man. The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Kumar Sah, about 35 years old son of Bharat Sah, a resident of Mauna village.
It is said that Rajesh has been the former president of BJP Yuva Morcha’s Koahi Mandal. Currently, he used to run a CSP and a cafe at his doorstep. On Wednesday night, he was sitting in the cafe at his doorstep, when three armed criminals riding a bike reached there and shot Rajesh.
On hearing the gunshot, the people in the neighbourhood rushed to the spot. Seeing the crowd approach, the criminals fled on their bike. The injured Rajesh was rushed to SKMCH Muzaffarpur by his family, where he died during treatment.
If the villagers are to be believed, Rajesh’s family has been having a land dispute with Radhamohan Rai, a resident of Salemapur village in Meenapur police station area of Muzaffarpur district. About a week ago also there was a clash between the two parties. Expressing the suspicion of land dispute behind the incident, in-charge police station officer Yadavendu Kumar Singh said that the reasons behind the incident are being investigated. Something can be said only after the investigation.
