On August 26, a video of unknown people committing inhuman acts with a youth went viral on various social media platforms in Araria district. To investigate the said viral video, the video was verified by the technical branch. Investigation revealed that the said video is from Islamnagar of Araria police station area. Police have arrested five people in this case. Raids are also being conducted to arrest other accused.

According to the information, after receiving the viral video, the police took immediate action in the case and registered an FIR under Section 109/117(4) BNS in Araria police station against the accused involved in the said inhuman act. After that, the main accused involved in the incident, Mohd. Sifat, Ravi Shah and three other accused have been arrested. Also, other accused involved in the incident have been identified and raids are being conducted continuously for their arrest.

The arrested accused include Md. Sifat Niazi (55), resident of Islamnagar Ward-27, Ravi Shah alias Vikas Shah (28), resident of Bhagat Tola police station area, Md. Kaifi (20), resident of Dubba Tola Ward-7, Jokihat police station area, Md. Umar (27), resident of Azad Nagar Ward-20 and Md. Ragib (28), resident of Azad Nagar Ward-22.
