In Purnia, the son along with his wife killed his mother over land dispute. The accused attacked the mother’s head with an iron hammer, due to which the elderly woman died on the spot. At the same time, the younger son and his wife who went to save the mother were seriously injured. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Purnia for treatment. Where the condition of both remains critical. After the incident, the accused son has fled from home.
On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot, took the body in their custody and sent it to the hospital for postmortem. After that, they started searching for the accused. This incident took place in Ithari village of Dhamdaha police station area. The deceased was identified as Lalita Devi (70), wife of Parmanand Bhagat, a resident of Ithari village. The injured were identified as the younger son Alok Bhagat and his wife Madhu Devi.
The deceased’s husband Parmanand Bhagat said that he has built a two-storey house for his two sons in the village itself. He has divided it equally between the two sons. He has kept two and a half acres of land in the village with himself. He has not divided it. The elder son of the house, Krishna Jaiswal and his wife often fight with him over this land. A month ago also there was a fight in the house over this. After that, the elder son and daughter-in-law went to their in-laws’ house for a few days. Both returned after staying for a few days.
He told that this morning I had left home for the village to have tea. On returning home I saw a crowd of people. On going inside I saw the body of my wife soaked in blood. There were marks of hammer attack on her head. At a short distance, both the younger son and daughter-in-law were lying on the ground soaked in blood. Both told in a low voice that the elder brother Krishna Jaiswal and his wife killed their mother with a hammer. When both of them went to rescue her, they were also attacked with a hammer.
