Brother-in-law, madly in love with sister-in-law in Bettiah, killed his wife and burnt her body after 29 days of marriage. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police started searching for the dead body of the deceased by roaming around the village. The case pertains to Chailabhar Chaita village under Majhaulia police station area. Nanhelal Srivastava, the father of the deceased newly married woman, has lodged an FIR against her daughter’s husband and her in-laws by giving an application at the Majhaulia police station.

Nanhelal told in the application given to the police, that he had married his 19-year-old daughter Nirmala Kumari on May 15, 2023, to Bablu Srivastava, 30-year-old son of Krishna Prasad Srivastava, a resident of Chailabhar Chaita village of Majhaulia police station area. According to his status in the marriage, five lakh cash rupees, bike, jewelry, utensils and furniture were given as dowry.

‘My son-in-law had an illicit relationship with his sister-in-law’

He told, my son-in-law Bablu Srivastava has a wrong relationship with sister-in-law Sudha Devi. My daughter had seen her husband having a physical relationship with her sister-in-law after marriage, when she protested, both of them together beat up my daughter. She told, her daughter had told that her husband used to beat her and also threatened to kill her. They don’t let her sleep on the bed, whenever she goes to sleep, they beat her up and drive her away.

‘Called and told that the daughter is dead’

He told the police that on the night of June 13, his son-in-law Bablu called him on his mobile and told him that his daughter was dead. When he asked the reason for the daughter’s death, Bablu switched off the phone and refused to tell anything. They reached their son-in-law’s house late at night and secretly tried to know the reason behind the daughter’s murder.

It was learned that sons-in-law Bablu Srivastava, Bhasur Chittaranjan Srivastava, Rajkumar Srivastava, sister-in-law Sudha Devi, Ruby Devi and Krishna Prasad Srivastava all together beat up their daughter Nirmala Kumari and burnt her body. Here, Inspector-cum-SHO Abhay Kumar said that an FIR has been registered on the application of the father of the deceased newly married woman. The dead bodies of the deceased have been burnt by the accused. The police is probing the entire matter.
