V Srinivas, Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare, Government of India, participated in important meetings and visits with senior officials of the Government of Bihar on January 3. During this, he focused special attention on getting information about the implementation of Bihar Public Grievance Redressal Act and Bihar Public Services Act. Other officials of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India were also present during the visit, including Punit Yadav, Additional Secretary, Sarita Chauhan, Joint Secretary, Subhashish Das, Director and HK Bhatt, Deputy Secretary.

On behalf of the state government, Additional Chief Secretary of General Administration Department, Dr. B. Rajender, Additional Mission Director of Bihar Administrative Reforms Mission Society, Dr. Pratima and other senior officials were also present in the meeting held in the meeting room of Bihar Administrative Reforms Mission Society, Patna. . In these meetings, the implementation of Bihar Public Grievance Redressal Act and Right to Public Services Act was discussed. He reviewed the process of providing time bound services and justice to the citizens under these Acts and was informed about the innovations being made in this direction by the Government of India. It has been told by V Srinivas that Bihar is the only state where an Act for grievance redressal is being made and implemented. This is a good practice, which can be adopted by other states.

Thereafter, the high level team visited the State Public Grievance Receipt Center located at Soochana Bhawan, Patna and took information about the management of complaints being received through online medium with the help of information technology. After this, the high level team directly observed the entire system by participating in the hearing process being conducted by the District Public Grievance Redressal Officer of Collectorate, Patna. V Srinivas appreciated the efforts of Bihar government in smoothly implementing administrative reforms.

After this, the high level team also held a meeting with Amritlal Meena, Chief Secretary and met Samrat Chaudhary, Honorable Deputy Chief Minister and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Honorable Deputy Chief Minister and informed about the information received during the tour.
