DM of Gaya district of Bihar, Dr. Tyag Rajan SM, on Monday took major action against headmasters of five schools of the district. This created a stir in the education department. Five headmasters of the district, who embezzled money by showing fake attendance of students in the mid-day meal scheme, have been punished. The DM has suspended two headmasters and has also ordered disciplinary action against three. According to information, Gaya DM had received a complaint that in 32 government schools, the headmasters of the schools are embezzling money by registering fake attendance of students in the mid-day meal scheme. In some schools, the students are not being given the benefits of PM Poshan Yojana for ten days.

There is panic among the headmasters of other schools
After the complaint, the DM got all the schools investigated. During the investigation, fake attendance of students was registered and embezzlement of government food grains and money was found in five schools of the district. After the investigation, the officials of the concerned departments submitted the report to the DM. On Monday, after the arrival of the investigation report, the headmasters of Sherghati and Gurua blocks were suspended. Also, an order has been given to recover the embezzled amount from the three headmasters within three days. After this order, there is panic among the headmasters of other schools of the district who embezzle the food of the children. Because, the DM, after holding a meeting with the officials of the education department, has given strict instructions to take action against such corrupt people.
Headmasters of these schools were punished
On Monday, the headmasters of the primary school Ghanghora in Tikari block, primary school Dihuri in Konch block, primary school Nauakhap in Tankuppa block, middle school Gaushpur in Gurua block and middle school Kusha in Sherghati block were punished on the charge of embezzling the funds in the mid-day meal scheme of the district.
