There is continuous erosion of Sikarhana river on the main road connecting Jatwa to Janerwa in Motihari, due to which till now 80% of the road has been cut off by flood water. This road connects Motihari district headquarters with five panchayats of Banjariya block as well as Sugauli and Ramgarhwa blocks. But the road is on the verge of closure due to erosion.

Local people said that when the flood water in Sikarhana river recedes, erosion intensifies, posing a serious threat to the road and surrounding areas. Villagers said that the administration is unaware of the situation and till now no official has come to take stock of the problem.
