Expansion
Politics over floods has intensified in Bihar. Now Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav reminded CM Nitish Kumar of the Kusaha tragedy. Not only this, Tejashwi even asked that Nitish ji, why are you hesitant in meeting PM Modi? Why not talk to the PM to help the flood victims. Tejashwi Yadav wrote on social media on Wednesday morning that remember the flood that occurred in Bihar in 2008. Then there was UPI government at the centre. On the request of RJD, the second largest and most powerful party at the Center after Congress, and its leader Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, Prime Minister Sardar Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi had come to Bihar to survey the flood-affected areas. Lalu ji presented an unimaginable and unforgettable example of positive politics by making the Prime Minister aware of the dire situation of flood and declared it a national disaster and at that time i.e. 15 years ago, he immediately provided special assistance of Rs. 1000 crore to Bihar from the Centre.
Had demanded one lakh tons of grain
Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav said that NDA’s Nitish government had demanded one lakh tonne of food grains from the UPA government at the Centre, but the UPA government at the Center gave 1 lakh 25 thousand tonnes of food grains to Bihar for the help and relief of the affected people. Nitish government gave more to Bihar than what it asked for. Nitish government saved the same food grains and before the 2010 elections, it distributed the grains given by the UPA government among the poor people on the pretext that the Nitish government was giving these grains. Took advantage of this in the elections. The NDA governments at the Center and Bihar measure the value of lives and property of the people of North Bihar by just a few kilos of food grains. The government will also have to explain the reason why embankments and dams break again and again?
An assistance amount of Rs 90 crore was also provided from the Railway Ministry.
Praising his father, the former Deputy Chief Minister said that during the Kusaha tragedy, the then Railway Minister Lalu Yadav ran free trains for the flood victims and also provided assistance of Rs 90 crore from the Railway Ministry. He distributed one lakh sarees and dhoti. Flood relief camps were set up in railway coaches on railway platforms in Kosi region. Lalu ji also gave his one month salary, Rs 1 crore won in KBC, one day salary of all Railway Ministry employees, assistance from IRCTC, Railway East Zone, West Zone etc. to Bihar.
A financial package of Rs 44 thousand crore was given
The Leader of Opposition said that in view of the shortage of drinking water in the flood affected areas, Lalu ji had immediately sent one lakh bottles of Railneer water to Bihar along with sending 25 railway tankers with a capacity of 20 thousand liters each. During that period, due to the efforts of Lalu ji, the UPA government provided all the assistance but Nitish Kumar promoted it in his own name. From 2004 to 2009, Lalu ji had given a financial package of Rs 1 lakh 44 thousand crore to Bihar, but Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made his face shine with it.
There were 29 MPs whereas now NDA has 30 MPs.
The Leader of Opposition said that at that time UPA had 29 MPs from Bihar whereas now NDA has 30 MPs. How helpless, hapless and helpless are the 30 NDA MPs, the Chief Minister of Bihar and the seven Union Ministers of NDA from Bihar at the Center that they can neither get the devastating flood of Bihar declared a disaster nor any special assistance amount from the Central Government which is running with their support. Can ask for. Bihar is not visible to any Union Minister or Prime Minister of BJP? Why doesn’t Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar meet Prime Minister Modi to declare Bihar’s floods a national disaster and demand assistance when lakhs of people and more than half the districts of Bihar are affected by floods? Why is Nitish Kumar hesitant in meeting the Prime Minister? Now after this post of Tejashwi Yadav, politics has intensified.
