The Ganges river is in spate in Bihar. Life has been disrupted as floodwater has entered many areas of Buxar, Patna and Bhagalpur. The water level of many rivers including Son, Punpun, Dardha, Gandak, Jiraiyan and Falgu is constantly rising. Here, water has spread in many areas north of the Patna-Buxar highway. Traffic has come to a halt on the roads leading to the villages from the highway. Not only this, one feet of water has risen on the Buxar-Mohania State Highway. This road connects Buxar to Banaras. If the water rises even a little, traffic may be disrupted. More than 12 villages of Simri block of Buxar are flooded. Road connectivity of Mahajidera has been cut off.

Flood water has entered the Diara area

According to the Water Resources Department, in the last two-three days, about 27.5 lakh cusecs of water has been released into the Son River from the Indrapuri Barrage. Due to this, people living in the areas along the Son River are facing problems. Water has entered the Nakata Diara, Danapur and Maner Diara areas of Patna. The water level of the Ganges at Digha Ghat in Patna is 69 cm and the water level of the Ganges at Gandhi Ghat is 127 cm above. The Jiraiyan river is also in spate in Nalanda.

Many schools closed due to rising water level

Patna District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar closed 76 schools in the Diara area of ​​Patna in view of the flood threat. In Begusarai too, 125 schools in the Diara area have been closed. Apart from this, three schools have been closed in Bidupur, Vaishali.
