In Rohtas, criminals shot and killed a gold merchant. Not only this, the criminals also looted gold and silver jewellery and cash worth about 16 lakhs from the merchant. The incident took place near Kala Shahar, just 200 meters away from Baddi police station. After the incident, there was chaos in the area and a crowd of people gathered. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started investigating.
Police engaged in search of criminals
With the help of police, the local people took the unconscious gold businessman to the hospital but the doctors declared him dead after examination. Meanwhile, the police informed the family members. The dead businessman has been identified as Suraj Soni (24), son of Santosh Seth, a resident of Sikuhi of Mohammadpur. He used to run his jewellery shop in Alampur. In this case, SDPO of Sasaram Dilip Kumar has said that action has been started to arrest the criminals.
Seven shots were fired, cash and jewellery were looted
Local people say that the criminals killed the gold merchant riding a bike during the robbery. Suraj Soni was shot seven times. Also, 150 grams of gold jewellery, seven and a half kilograms of silver and more than 20 thousand rupees in cash kept in the trunk of his bike were also looted. It is being told that Suraj Soni was going to his house in Sikuhi Tola of Mohammadpur village after closing his shop in Alampur. During this time the criminals committed the crime. At first people took Suraj Soni to the hospital thinking he was injured. But the doctor declared him dead.
People are questioning the working style of police
The family says that this incident happened at a distance of 200 meters from Baddi police station. Suraj Soni was returning home with precious jewellery. During this time the incident took place. The body of the deceased is currently lying in Sadar Hospital. Where SDPO Dilip Kumar has also reached the spot. Along with this, Chenari’s local MLA and former minister Murari Prasad Gautam has also reached the hospital. Here, people are raising questions on the working style of the police after this incident. There is anger among the businessmen.
