Bihar government has taken a big decision, under which an IPS officer Rakesh Kumar Dubey has been released from suspension. Now a letter has been issued from the Home Department.

IPS officer Rakesh Kumar Dubey was the SP of Bhojpur at that time, when he was accused of illegal sand mining and nexus with sand mafia. Due to this allegation, Bihar government kept Rakesh Kumar Dubey suspended for almost three and a half years.

Appeal was made in CAT

Rakesh Kumar had gone to CAT regarding this action taken by Bihar government. After a complete hearing in CAT, the Home Department’s order to extend the suspension period of Rakesh Kumar Dubey was considered unfair. Earlier, on January 12, 2024, the Home Department had decided to extend the suspension period of Rakesh Kumar Dubey by 180 days which was ending on July 10, 2024, which was canceled by CAT in its order. At present, after the order of CAT, the Suspension Review Committee has decided to end the suspension of Rakesh Kumar Dubey. He has been instructed by the Bihar Government that Rakesh Kumar Dubey will fully cooperate in the investigation of the departmental and criminal proceedings going on against him.
