BJP number one in the council with 24 members
The ruling JDU had 24 members in the Legislative Council. Now, despite the victory of two in this election, the number of JDU members has been reduced to 23. The number of BJP members was earlier 23. Two of its members were elected, but with the addition of one new member, the number became 24. RJD has 14 members, Congress four, CPI, HAM and Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party one each in the Legislative Council. Apart from this, six members are independent. Around these elections, Upendra Kushwaha resigned from JDU and also left the seat of the Legislative Council, but the by-election could not be held on this seat. This seat is vacant now.
