In Gaya, a woman crossing the road with her one year old son was crushed by a Bolero vehicle. The accident was so horrific that mother and son died on the spot. The incident took place near Neemchak village of Belaganj police station area. Villagers say that a woman crossing the road with her one-year-old child was crushed by a Bolero traveling at high speed. The village people were also standing on the roadside. People were stunned to see the incident.
The villagers kept screaming and after committing the accident, the driver fled from the spot along with the vehicle. The deceased were identified as 32-year-old daughter of Neeti Manjhi, resident of Beladih village of Belaganj police station, and one-year-old child Pramod Manjhi. After the incident, people from half a dozen nearby villages placed the bodies of the mother and son on the road and blocked the road. People demonstrated vigorously demanding the arrest of the driver and construction of an underpass on the road.
Angry people blocked the road
Here, after receiving information about the incident, the police of Belaganj police station reached the spot and ended the road jam by giving assurance to the angry people. After that, the mother and son’s body was taken into their custody and sent to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. The villagers blocking the road said that the road was built but due to lack of underpass, road accidents happen every day. And the villagers become its victims. There is a village on one side of the road and fields on the other side. To do farming, they cross the road and reach the fields. Today again Neeti Manjhi of Beladih village had to suffer the consequences by losing her daughter and one year old grandson. If the government had built an underpass, such a painful incident would not have happened today.
