Bihar: A young man died after drowning in a water-filled pit located in Kateya Bhaluhi Chanwar of Kateya police station area of Gopalganj district. The body of the young man has been recovered by the police. The police has taken the recovered body into custody and sent it to Sadar Hospital Gopalganj for post-mortem.

A young man died in the district after drowning in a water-filled pit. It is said that the deceased had gone towards Chanwar on Tuesday morning. During this time, he reached near the water-filled pit to wash his feet, when his feet slipped and he started drowning in it. Due to no one being around, he could not save himself, due to which he died.
When he did not return home till late evening, the family started worrying. A lot of search was done, but he could not be found anywhere. Meanwhile, during the search, some people went towards the pond and saw his dead body and informed the police. After getting the information, the police reached the spot, took out the body from the pond and sent it to Sadar Hospital Gopalganj late at night. As soon as the family got the news of his death, they started crying loudly.
In this case, Kateya police station in-charge Abhishek Kumar said that as soon as the information about the incident was received, the body was recovered and sent to Sadar Hospital Gopalganj for post-mortem. No application of any kind has been received yet. As soon as the application is received, further action is being taken by investigating the application and post-mortem report. The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Tejeshwar Sonar alias Majhi Sonar, a resident of Khudi Chhapar village of Kateya police station area.
